As part of Afrotech 2023 in Austin, Texas, LinkedIn hosted a dynamic one-night activation at Brazos Hall to engage Black professionals in a fresh and unforgettable way. The goal was to create a culturally resonant space where LinkedIn could connect with attendees through creativity, nostalgia, and authentic community energy. Events Unleashed was brought on to turn this vision into reality—delivering a full-scale retro arcade-themed experience that was both high-impact and deeply engaging.

Challenges We Experienced

Crafting a brand activation that felt celebratory, culturally relevant, and true to LinkedIn’s mission presented several key challenges:

  • Transforming a raw event space into an immersive retro arcade within tight setup and strike windows
  • Creating a branded but laid-back atmosphere that encouraged organic networking
  • Delivering a seamless guest experience while juggling multiple vendors, performers, and brand partners

The Approach We Took

Events Unleashed handled full-service production of the activation, collaborating closely with LinkedIn’s team to conceptualize, design, and execute a high-energy, nostalgia-filled evening.

  • Concept development and theme execution (Retro Arcade)

  • Coordination of all vendors, including DJ, live spray paint hat artist, arcade games, and catering
